Job summary

Cable One is hiring for a Lease Accountant to maintain ASC 842 lease accounting schedules and support end-to-end processes. You will work with stakeholders and accounting systems to ensure accurate reporting and controls.

Option to work remotely for qualified candidates across states; strong emphasis on SOX compliance and internal/external audit support. A bachelor's in accounting and 1+ year of GL experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting; and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and controls.
• Proactively prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; investigates and resolves variances promptly.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses requested by department leadership.
• Keeps abreast of FASB, SEC and PCAOB standards affecting internal accounting and reporting; provides analysis on changes.
