Special Olympics in Washington, DC is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage all aspects of the organization’s cash disbursements. The role supports monthly close, ensures accurate coding, and handles vendor and employee reimbursements in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal regulations and the allowability of costs.
• Proficient in D365 Finance and Operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Concur expense and vendor management systems.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process all disbursements including PO invoices, vendor payments, grant payments, and employee claims.
• Enter AP data accurately and ensure proper approvals per policy.
• Support monthly close with accrued expenses requests from departments.
• Administer the Concur expense system.
• Lead AP training for staff and onboarding of new hires.
• Maintain audit-ready AP files and general ledger documentation.
• Provide excellent service to departments and staff.
• Handle full-cycle AP tasks including ACH, wires, and international transfers.
• Coordinate wire transfers as directed by the Controller.
• Assist with 1099 filings and monthly schedules.
