Job summary

State of Maryland Allegany County Department of Social Services seeks an accounts payable professional to manage invoices, payments, and card custodian duties for EBT and gift cards. The role collaborates with vendors, customers, and staff to ensure timely and accurate payments.

You will work in the Finance Unit, processing payments through FMIS, reviewing journals in Dynamics 365, and ensuring compliance with internal policies to prevent fraud and errors.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends.
• Experience reconciling financial data and ensuring accuracy in reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review invoices for processing in FMIS.Initiate payments by keypunching voucher batches.
• Review and approve journals in Dynamics 365 for multiple agency bank accounts.
• Review CJAMS vouchers for funding approval.
• Custodian of EBT and gift cards; manage receipt and distribution.
• Prepare monthly batch of Working fund payments for reimbursement.
• Answer vendor/customer staff inquiries about payments and invoices.
