Job summary

Recovery Resource Council in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor payments, ensure proper coding, and resolve discrepancies. This full-time, non-exempt role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork within a nonprofit setting.

You will maintain vendor records, process checks and ACH payments, assist with POs and monthly reconciliations, and support audits. Hybrid work with in-office days and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a nonprofit setting.

• Prior experience with MIP / Microix accounting software preferred.

• Provide accurate backup documentation for all program payments.
• Assist in staff credit card monthly processing and mileage entries.
• Support annual audit by preparing reports and documentation as directed.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Full-Time Non-Exempt

Recovery Resource Council, celebrating 80 years of service to the Dallas and Fort Worth area is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to perform the following functions.

• Review for coding and authorized approval, identify errors or discrepancies and resolve before processing.
• Assist with entering new or updated vendor names and data, send W9 forms to vendors, enter consistently tagged vendor IDs into accounting system.
• Research and resolve any missing or outstanding backup documentation with staff.
• Assist accounts payable processes including purchase orders and check requests.
• Assist when needed with check preparation, including ACH transactions and web payments.
• Proof of accurate and consistent backup documentation for all program payments.
• Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the accounts payable function in accordance with record retention policies and laws.
• Assist in staff credit card monthly processing including reconciliation and accurate importation to accounting software.
• Assist with monthly staff mileage entries.
• Perform various departmental tasks in support of co-workers as workload and staffing levels dictate including review and back-up of work for other departmental positions.
• Assist in annual audit by preparing assigned reports or providing documentation as directed by the Controller or CFO.

Education/experience requirement

• 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a non-profit setting in an accounting, finance, or bookkeeping role.
• Good organization and attention to detail, professional presence, strong customer relations skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to perform duties as a team player / problem-solver and work in stressful situations, accommodate changes, and meet deadlines.
• Prior experience with MIP / Microix accounting software preferred
