Job summary

Kontos Foods Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team in New Jersey. You will process vendor invoices, maintain accurate AP records, and ensure payments are accurate and on time.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of AP or accounting experience, familiarity with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred), and strong Excel skills to manage high-volume transactions in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience required.
• Manufacturing, food production, distribution, or high-volume purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience with purchase orders, goods receipts, and three-way invoice matching.
• ERP/accounting systems experience; SAP Business One a plus.
• Strong Excel skills for organizing and analyzing financial data.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with POs, goods receipts, and packing slips.
• Verify approvals and coding before payment processing.
• Enter and maintain AP transactions in the accounting system.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between POs, receipts, invoices, and vendor statements.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances.
• Prepare invoices for weekly and scheduled payment runs.
• Process payments via checks, ACH, wires, and other methods.
• Monitor due dates and take advantage of early-payment discounts when possible.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Receiving, Warehouse, and Operations to resolve issues.
• Maintain organized AP records and support year-end audits.
