Job summary

Auer Steel & Heating Supply Company in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The role focuses on data integrity, vendor invoice matching, and timely payment processing in a well-established wholesale environment.

You will handle 3-way matching, posting A/R payments as applicable, and participate in general accounting duties with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach. Hours are flexible between 7am and 4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months or more related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Able to work with a diverse group of people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS-Outlook.
• Basic MS-Excel skills.
• Familiar with Epicor P21 would be a plus.
• Experience posting A/R customer payments and account adjustments would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify and validate all entered data to confirm completeness, consistency, and correctness before finalizing records.
• Research and solve discrepancies.
• 3-Way matching of vendor invoices, packing slips, and receiving documentation to verify quantities and prices.
• Filing/Copying/emailing
• Receive and direct switch board overflow calls on the phone.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
