Job summary

Midwest Express in Des Plaines, IL is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure timely, accurate payments to suppliers. This full-time role supports strong vendor relationships and smooth accounting operations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with basic accounting software; Sage experience is a plus. Working hours are 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Computer literacy and good typing skills.
• Analytical skills for investigating discrepancies and improving processes.
• Experience with Sage Accounting system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter invoice data into accounting systems in a timely manner.
• Reconcile accounts payable records to prevent duplicate or missing payments.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Process payments to vendors using checks and bank transfers.
• Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Manage payment schedules in accordance with vendor agreements.
• Analyze accounts payable processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
