Job summary

NurtureSource Homes is seeking an in-person, part-time Accounts Payable Accountant in Berkeley, CA to own the day-to-day AP function and improve financial processes. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will drive vendor management, expense tracking, payroll coordination, and internal controls in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

You will collaborate across Project Managers, Operations, and external partners to automate processes, enhance reporting, and scale accounts payable

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction accounting, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction project operational processes, insurances, vendors, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online
• Proficient in creating, maintaining, and organizing Google Drive (sheets/Excel)
• Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day AP in a construction environment, processing invoices and vendor payments.
• Coordinate invoice approvals with Project Managers and Operations.
• Maintain vendor records and monitor compliance.
• Reconcile expenses and integrate Rippling Spend with QuickBooks Online.
• Support internal controls, reporting, and year-end close.
