C. Herman Construction is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on verifying and processing vendor invoices, handling exceptions, and supporting weekly payment runs using AI-driven processing and Trimble Pay.

You'll work with a collaborative, fast-paced environment, gain experience with job costing, and contribute to audit-ready records. Training is provided to help you grow within our ESOP-owned, growth-oriented company.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic understanding of job costing and accounting principles.
• Associates degree or applicable work history.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Verification: Review and validate vendor invoices in the AP inbox prior to approval.
• Data Entry: Process and enter overhead invoices.
• Exception Handling: Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies flagged by the AI system.
• Vendor Communication: Serve as the point of contact for vendor inquiries and timely payment resolution.
• Payment Processing Support: Help prepare weekly payments via check and verify terms.
• Job Costing & Coding: Ensure invoices are coded to correct jobs, cost codes, GL accounts, and phases.
• AP Documentation: Maintain audit-ready digital records.
• Reconciliations: Assist with monthly AP ledger reconciliations and month-end close.
