Job summary

Jobot Consulting seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Consultant to manage invoices, 3-way matching, payments, and vendor communications for a law firm. This contract role spans 4 months with a 1 day remote option.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting and at least 5 years in accounts payable, preferably in the legal sector, with strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Accounts Payable Specialist or similar in the legal industry.
• Strong knowledge of payment processing, vendor invoice verification, and expense report auditing.
• Proficiency in data entry and management.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Office (Excel).
• Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
• Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review all invoices for documentation and approval before payment.
• Process 3-way P.O. matching invoices (up to 100+ per week).
• Prioritize invoices based on cash discounts and terms.
• Prepare and process check runs, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
• Audit credit card bills and expense reports; reconcile statements.
• Maintain files and documentation per policy and GAAP.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist to join our esteemed legal firm. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to showcase their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices, creating vouchers, reconciling credit card statements, and entering financial data. This is a consultant position position 4 months that requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Job Details

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Process 3-way P.O. matching invoices and up to 100 plus invoices per week
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
• Prepare and process check runs, electronic transfers, and ACH payments
• Audit and process credit card bills and expense reportsRespond to all vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Assist with other projects as needed
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
• Provide input into department’s goal-setting process
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role within the legal industry
• Strong knowledge of payment processing, vendor invoice verification, and expense report auditing
• Proficiency in data entry and management
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel)
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team setting and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
