Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a fast-paced organization in Missouri. You will manage high-volume invoice processing, ensure timely vendor payments, and act as the link between vendors, accounting, and internal departments.

The role emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and collaboration, with hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and a pay range of $20.00–$23.00 per hour. Candidates should have 3+ years AP experience and strong data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort, date stamp and file all incoming AP paperwork.
• Obtain approvals for AP invoices per policy and code invoices to COA.
• Process invoices and attach supporting documents; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and run AP checks and process electronic payments.
• Maintain AP files and prepaid accounts; assist with month-end close.

Bring your accounting knowledge, organizational skills, and commitment to excellence to a role where your work directly supports the success of the entire organization.Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Sort, date stamp and file all incoming AP paperwork includes both hard copy received and emails.- Obtain appropriate approvals for AP invoices per policy.- Process and properly code all invoices according to chart of accounts, reviewing for accuracy and attaching all matching all receiving/approval documentation.- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with appropriate department or vendor.- Prepare and perform AP check runs from approved list.- Print AP checks for mailing and process electronic vendor payments as approved.- Maintain AP Paid Files.- Maintain AP prepaid account weekly and finalize before month-end.- Correspond with vendors and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.- Prepare key performance indicators (KPIs) as required.- Process petty cash requests.- Prepare annual 1099 reports.- Complete daily AR cash log daily.- Maintain ‘Received but Not Invoiced’ report and resolve discrepancies.- Cross train in Accounts Receivable as back-up.Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements:-High school diploma required.- 3+ years of Accounts Payable Experience (large volume preferred) required.- Attention to detail.- Excellent data entry skills.- Knowledge of general accounting principles.- Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills.- Ability to work independently or as a team member.- The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.IND061About us:QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
