Job summary

Soni in Franklin, TN is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team. The role is focused on accurate and timely invoice processing, researching discrepancies, reconciling vendor accounts, and maintaining organized workflows.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, reviewing for accuracy, resolving disputes, reconciling statements, and maintaining SOPs. The ideal candidate has 5+ years AP experience and strong Excel/ERP skills. Onsite, full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least five years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, vendor account research, statement reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Experience researching and resolving vendor disputes and invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• ERP system experience; SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Soni is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team in Franklin, TN. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, researching and resolving discrepancies, reconciling vendor accounts, and maintaining organized invoice workflows.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with established procedures and approval requirements.
• Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, appropriate documentation, and adherence to internal controls.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, duplicate invoices, missing information, and other exceptions.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and statements, investigate outstanding items, and follow discrepancies through resolution.
• Monitor assigned inboxes, workflow queues, and invoice processing systems to maintain current workloads and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and process invoice batches while maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation.
• Communicate professionally with internal departments and external vendors to resolve questions and provide timely updates.
• Escalate workload concerns, processing delays, and system issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide backup coverage for assigned processes.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and cross-training less-experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, vendor account research, statement reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Experience researching and resolving vendor disputes and invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to gather and interpret data, investigate discrepancies, and prepare reports and supporting documentation.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with management, internal business partners, colleagues, and external vendors.
• ERP system experience required; SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding industry.
• Experience with transportation management systems or other specialized invoice processing platforms.
• Previous experience assisting with employee training, cross-training, or process improvement initiatives.

Compensation

$25 - $30/ Hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
