Job summary

Janel Group in Houston, TX is seeking an accounts payable specialist to handle domestic vendor payments and international agent settlements. You will reconcile statements, verify charges, and ensure timely approvals in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist with process automation, invoice tracking, and resolving discrepancies, leveraging advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and learning our CargoWise ERP system. One day remote per week after training.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Experience with Excel advanced functions (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Freight or logistics industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn and master CargoWise ERP.

Responsibilities

• Handle A/P transactions and payments for domestic vendors and international agents, reconciling statements and ensuring timely approvals.
• Help automate processes and streamline procedures to remove manual steps.
• Track and post invoices.
• Research and resolve discrepancies from vendors, agents and partners while maintaining confidentiality.
• Identify and resolve service challenges while managing a full workload in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

• Schedule: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM OR 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
• Work-from-Home Flexibility: One day per week, once fully trained.
• Testing Requirement: Candidates must be able to successfully complete an advanced Excel assessment, including formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

• Handle A/P transactions and payments for domestic vendors and international agents reconciling statements while ensuring proper approvals, verification of charges and ensuring payments are made within agreed terms
• Help automate processes and streamline procedures; eliminating repetitive or manual steps
• Tracking and posting invoices
• Researching and resolving discrepancies, questions, and concerns from vendors, agents, and partners while keeping confidentiality where applicable
• Capably and confidently identify, prioritize and resolve service challenges, while managing a full workload in a fast-paced environment

Position Requirements:

• 1+ years' of accounts payable
• Experience with excel knowledge, including pivot tables, V-lookup, etc.
• Freight and logistics industry experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to learn and master our Accounting and Operations ERP system (CargoWise)
