Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in Burlington, MA is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team. You will process vendor invoices, manage payments, and ensure accurate financial transactions with strong internal controls.

The role requires 3+ years in AP, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, and a detail-oriented, analytical approach. Onsite work 4+ days/week at our Burlington HQ, with competitive US base compensation.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in accounting/finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of AP processes and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Oracle & NetSuite).
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of vendor invoices accurately and promptly.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving docs.
• Review invoices for approvals and correct coding.
• Prepare and process weekly payments (ACH, wire, checks).
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues quickly.
• Maintain vendor master data and supporting docs.
• Assist with month-end closing, accruals and reconciliations.
• Support audits with requested documentation.
• Monitor internal controls and company policies.
• Collaborate with procurement, receiving and managers to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and drive efficiency.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, managing payment cycles, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong understanding of accounts payable processes and internal controls.

What You’ll Do…

• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.

• Review invoices for appropriate approvals and coding.

• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire, and check payments.

• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.

• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues promptly.

• Maintain vendor master data and ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.

• Monitor compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

• Collaborate with procurement, receiving, and department managers to resolve invoice and payment issues.

• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and drive efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Experience: 3+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience.

• Skills:

• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERPs (Oracle & NetSuite)

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
