Job summary

Aston Carter in Omaha, NE seeks an Accountant / Office Manager to oversee the full accounting cycle and office operations for a food processing equipment and parts sales business. You will manage PO entry, AR/AP, payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting to ownership.

This onsite, permanent role requires strong Excel and Sage 50 familiarity, no degree required, and training is provided. Salary range is $50,000–$70,000 per year with a 3% retirement match.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with accounts receivable and invoicing customers.
• Experience with accounts payable processes and vendor invoices.
• Proficiency in bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Payroll processing experience and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with sales and payroll tax processes and compliance.
• Ability to track inventory in accounting/office environment.
• Strong Excel skills and monthly close workflow.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process purchase orders and track daily volumes.
• Manage accounts receivable, generate invoices, and collect payments.
• Handle accounts payable, enter invoices, issue checks, and wire payments.
• Perform bank statement reconciliations and bi-weekly collections review.
• Reconcile credit card statements and ensure correct entries.
• Run bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely payments.
• Calculate and process monthly commissions using Excel.
• Track inventory movements and align with sales/purchasing.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns.
• Prepare and file payroll tax returns.
• Analyze balance sheets and income statements for trends.
• Produce financial reports and communicate results to ownership.
• Maintain organized records for audits.
• Use Excel and accounting software to close monthly spreadsheets.
• Support office management and daily operations.
• Work independently and take ownership of duties.
• Contribute to a direct, collaborative office culture.
