Austin NAWIC is seeking an Accounts Payable Technician to manage the company’s payables workflow. You will handle invoices, vendor statements, PO matching, and payments with accuracy and courtesy.

The role emphasizes timely payments, proper coding, and efficient data entry to maintain strong vendor relationships. The position requires solid knowledge of AP processes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two-year accounts payable experience or equivalent.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.

Responsibilities

• Receive invoices, sort, and prepare them for payment.
• Review and audit invoice terms for correctness.
• Route invoices for approval and collect approvals.
• Ensure on-time payments to avoid late penalties.
• Code invoices, perform data entry, and pay vendors.
• Run pre-payment reports and prepare check copies.
• Prepare tax deposits, book transfers, and ACH vouchers.
• Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly A/P aging reports.
• Create and maintain vendor files.
• Collect and maintain W-9s, and prepare 1099 reporting.
