Lutheran Social Service MN is seeking an Accounting Specialist to handle expenses and mileage for employees and clients enrolled in Waiver programs. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, timely vendor payments, and audit-ready reporting.

You will collaborate with Service Coordinators, Billing, and the Billing Specialist to ensure billing and payroll accuracy. Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills, along with attention to detail, are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years related experience in Payroll/Accounts Payable.
• 1-2 years of additional lead experience within payroll preferred.
• Computer literacy and math skills are required.
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Able to learn new systems and communicate effectively, both written and oral.
• Able to manage diverse tasks and prioritize daily work.

Responsibilities

• Data Entry of expenses/mileage weekly with proper signatures as required.
• Calculate, print, and mail vendor checks weekly including garnishments and deductions.
• Process and mail all vendor expenses weekly after validating against expense reports.
• Prepare and organize weekly expense reporting for audit integrity.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators to ensure expense accuracy and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with Billing to ensure billing integrity and meet payroll needs as defined.
• Work with Billing Specialist to ensure AP and Billing system integrity and problem-solving.
• Maintain Garnishment tracking spreadsheet and validate bi-weekly.
• Maintain P-card tracking spreadsheet and validate weekly against billing.
