Job summary

Kahana Feld is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee vendor invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and related controls. The role leads the AP team and collaborates with Finance and other departments to ensure expenses are accurately recorded and paid on time.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in AP or accounting, with leadership experience, and familiarity with legal accounting systems such as Aderant. This hybrid role is based in New York and offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounts payable or accounting, with leadership experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system such as Aderant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for proper documentation, approvals, coding, and compliance with policies.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries, maintaining approval processes and segregation of duties.
• Maintain vendor records and controls for setup, tax docs, and payment instructions.
• Reconcile AP records and support month-end/year-end closes, accruals, audits, and 1099 prep.
• Supervise and develop AP staff, set daily priorities, manage workloads, and monitor performance.
