Job summary

City Brewery is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a team responsible for full-cycle AP, vendor management, and month-end close in a high-volume environment. You will drive process improvements, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with Purchasing and plant leadership to optimize procure-to-pay workflows.

The role requires 5+ years in AP, 3+ years of people leadership, and strong ERP experience with MS Excel. This is a full-time on-site position based in La Crosse, WI.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
• 3+ years of experience managing and coaching a team.
• Manufacturing/operational accounting experience within a complex industry.
• Experience improving AP processes and using automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Hands-on ERP experience and advanced MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process including invoices and payments.
• Lead a team of AP coordinators, setting performance goals and reviews.
• Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments (check, ACH, wire).
• Maintain vendor master data and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Oversee month-end close for AP, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Administer the annual 1099 reporting process and vendor classifications.
• Collaborate across departments to streamline procure-to-pay processes.
• Monitor internal controls over disbursements to safeguard company assets.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate workflows.
• Track KPIs like invoice processing time and days payable outstanding.
