Job summary

Progyny, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead the day-to-day AP function while handling invoice processing, payments, and vendor management. This role combines team leadership with high-volume, transactional duties in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in AP or accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems, tax reporting, and internal controls. Based in the United States, NYC-based candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field
• 5–8 years AP or accounting experience
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Understanding of AP and procure-to-pay cycles
• GL reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
• Vendor tax reporting knowledge (W-9, 1099)
• Electronic payments: ACH and wires
• Excel proficient; Intacct and Concur preferred
• Analytical, organized, problem-solving
• Attention to detail; can meet deadlines
• Strong customer service and communication
• Discretion with confidential information
• Experience in high-volume, multi-entity environment

Responsibilities

• Manage complete AP cycle from invoice to payment
• Code and process vendor invoices
• Execute payments via ACH, wire, checks
• Maintain vendor records and terms
• Enforce vendor setup controls
• Review employee expense reports
• Reconcile AP subledger to GL
• Monitor invoices, payment status, discounts
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues
• Oversee Form 1099 preparation
• Support cash-flow forecasting
• Collaborate to improve procure-to-pay
• Develop AP policies and controls
• Identify automation opportunities
