Job summary

Grayson Search Partners, LLC is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Chicago-based accounting team. The role oversees the AP function, manages a team, and drives efficiency and accuracy in the department.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting or finance with a strong AP background, plus experience supervising AP staff and handling high-volume invoice processing. Strong Excel and ERP experience (SAP a plus) are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with a strong background in Accounts Payable.
• Previous experience managing or supervising AP employees.
• Experience working in a high-volume AP environment.
• Strong understanding of AP processes and month-end activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the Accounts Payable team.
• Assign workloads, establish priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee the daily AP process and help resolve escalated issues.
• Review month-end AP activity and support accurate close.
• Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and payment questions.
• Assist with vendor onboarding and account maintenance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain AP procedures and documentation.
• Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of AP activity.
• Partner with other departments on accounting and payment-related matters.
