Job summary

Bangor Savings Bank is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to guide a centralized disbursement function under the Accounting Supervisor. You will mentor the AP Specialist, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes vendor setup, tax remittance, year-end 1099 handling, and driving efficiency with AP software. A strong accounting background and supervisory capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3–4 years of AP/accounting experience.
• Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
• Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
• Ability to learn multiple software programs quickly.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains vendor and employee files within the AP system.
• Maintains vendor relationships, including setup and due diligence (W-9s).
• Prepares accounting schedules related to payments, taxes and prepaid expenses.
• Leads AP system maintenance and applies software updates.
• Assists in month-end close, audits, and regulatory exams.
