Job summary

Colsafety, in Columbia, Missouri, seeks an Accounts Payable Lead to oversee the AP process, provide day-to-day leadership, training, and workflow direction to the AP team. The role continues to perform invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations while ensuring deadlines, accuracy, and policy adherence.

You will help optimize cash flow, maintain vendor relationships, and support overall financial operations, reporting to Meagan Kick in Finance.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert of procure to pay best practices.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and training to Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Review work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and policy adherence.
• Onboard and train new AP team members on processes and systems.
• Serve as escalation point for complex invoice or reconciliation issues.
• Support month-end close activities and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and process payments (checks, wire, ACH, electronic) per terms.
• Reconcile AP transactions and statements; resolve discrepancies.
• Investigate unmatched invoices and vendor credits.
• Review freight invoices for accuracy and dispute charges when criteria met.
