Job summary

BerryDunn seeks an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the AP function across multiple client engagements from our Portland, ME headquarters (or other offices). The role manages a team of accounting assistants, approves workflows, and serves as the day-to-day client relationship owner for AP.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of progressive AP experience, strong internal controls knowledge, and proficiency across QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and RAMP. Travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive AP experience, including 2+ years in lead/supervisory capacity.
• BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business; equivalent experience considered.
• Exceptional attention to detail and understanding of AP controls.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary AP point of contact for multiple clients, ensuring SLA targets.
• Lead onboarding for new AP engagements, including chart of accounts mapping and vendor master migration.
• Own invoice approval workflow across client engagements, reviewing coding and approvals.
• Review and release client payments (ACH, wire, check, vendor portals) with proper vendor verification.
• Oversee client AP inboxes and escalation queues with same-day triage.
• Train staff on client procedures and ensure cross-coverage across clients.
• Assist with 1099 preparation and vendor data cleanup throughout the year.
• Maintain and improve AP policies, SOPs, and internal controls; identify automation opportunities.
• Operate across multiple AP platforms (QBO, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, RAMP).
