Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a team of three AP professionals while overseeing the full accounts payable function across multiple entities in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on role focuses on process improvement, staff development, timely payments, and strong vendor management, with opportunities to optimize controls and drive efficiency across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience with full-cycle AP responsibilities.
• 2+ years supervising Accounts Payable staff.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment methods, and vendor management.
• Experience managing ACH, wire, and check payment processes.
• Experience with Concur expense reporting.
• Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 3 Accounts Payable staff members.
• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process for multiple entities.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment-related issues.
• Review invoice coding, approvals, and payment processing for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee ACH payments, wire transfers, and check runs.
• Manage employee expense reimbursements through Concur.
• Lead the annual 1099 preparation and filing process.
• Ensure timely month-end AP close activities and account reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls, and efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support business operations and vendor management.
