Shoe Carnival, a publicly traded retailer, is relocating its accounting function to Fort Mill, SC. This Accounts Payable Associate role supports day-to-day AP activities for nationwide operations.

You will process vendor invoices, reconcile payments, and assist with month-end tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong Excel skills and a detail-oriented mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
• 1+ year of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Experience with accounting software is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices (coding, keying, and payment reconciliation)
• Match invoices to purchase orders
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally
• Support check runs and payment processing

What You’ll Do

As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will support the day-to-day AP function and process a high volume of vendor invoices using our AP automation platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing vendor invoices (coding, keying, and payment reconciliation)
• Matching invoices to purchase orders
• Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies
• Responding to vendor inquiries in a timely, professional manner
• Supporting check runs and payment processing
• Maintaining organized files and documentation
• Assisting with month-end and year-end processing

This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and strong attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
