Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant for a full-time hybrid role based in Oakland, CA. You will process vendor invoices, handle employee reimbursements, and manage credit card reports to ensure timely and accurate payments.

The role requires 1–2 years of accounting experience, a finance/accounting degree (or equivalent), and proficiency with accounting ERP systems; Sage Intacct and related tools are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or an Associate’s degree in finance or accounting, or a High school diploma/GED.
• 1 year of accounting experience with an Associate’s degree, or 2 years with a High school diploma/GED. Proficiency in an Accounting ERP system required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong preference and proficiency in Sage Intacct, Paymerang, Emburse Professional, and FloQast.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Analyze and process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Transaction Review: Review and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation.
• Payment Execution: Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer, including uploading positive pay files.
• Inquiry Resolution: Respond to vendor and employee inquiries, professionally resolving payment discrepancies.
• Financial Support: Assist with month-end closing by preparing accruals and support internal and external financial audits.

As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you ensure the organization’s financial health by accurately managing payments, expenses, and reconciliations, impacting operations across the agency. You will bring organization and great customer service to a critical financial function.
