Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies in Oakland is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage vendor invoices, employee expenses, and credit card reports. You will ensure timely payments, perform monthly reconciliations, and serve as the go-to contact for payment inquiries, contributing to the organization’s financial accuracy.

The role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to navigate multiple tasks within a hybrid office setting in Oakland, with in-person Thursdays required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
• Associate's degree in finance or accounting plus 1 year of related work experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process invoices and employee reimbursements for timely, accurate payments.
• Ensure proper coding and approvals per policy; review and reconcile credit card transactions.
• Maintain accurate vendor and employee records; respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer; upload positive pay files.
• Assist with month-end closing by preparing accruals; support audits with requested documentation.
