Job summary

Servbank is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to join its Finance and Accounting organization in New York. The role requires leadership by example, deep GAAP expertise, and accountability to deliver accurate journal entries and timely close processes.

The candidate should have 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or financial services, and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Excel and accounting software proficiency are essential for daily reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; banking or financial services experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Independently compile, analyze, and review financial information to prepare and record journal entries.
• Record, reconcile, and analyze daily cash and investment activities, escalating concerns as needed.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and related documentation.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes and related schedules.
• Prepare various accounting schedules and reports with high accuracy.
• Maintain updated departmental procedures in line with internal controls.
• Assist audits by collecting and organizing documentation and responding to requests.
• Prepare regulatory reports (FR 2900, Call Report, Y-9SP).
• Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable and vendor/invoice processing.
• Identify process improvements and support implementation of enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related questions.
