Job summary

The ideal candidate will lead journal entries, reconciliations, and the month-end close, while mentoring staff and driving process improvements in banking and financial reporting.

A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Experience with general ledger systems and financial reporting applications.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Ability to independently prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, fostering accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations; ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Manage daily cash and investment activity analyses; identify variances.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and related schedules.
• Assist audits and regulatory reporting, including FR 2900, Call Report, and Y-9SP.
• Serve as backup for accounts payable processing and vendor invoices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting questions.
