Job summary

Servbank is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to guide a fast-paced finance group in Champaign, IL. You will lead by example, ensure accurate journal entries, cash and investment analysis, and timely closes in a banking environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and GL systems. This role supports audits, regulatory reporting, and AP backup as needed.

• Proficient in Excel and accounting software.
• Experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, fostering accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Independently compile, analyze, and review journal entries within the general ledger.
• Record, reconcile, and analyze daily cash and investment activities; identify variances.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations; research outstanding items.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and related documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly accounting schedules and reports with high accuracy.
• Maintain and update departmental procedures to align with controls.
• Assist with audits by organizing and validating documentation.
• Support regulatory reporting and filing obligations (FR 2900, Call, Y-9SP).
• Back up Accounts Payable tasks and ensure policy compliance.
• Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to improvements.
