Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Supervisor - Accounting to lead a team in day-to-day accounting operations, includingGL, AP/AR, and financial reporting. You will ensure data integrity, compliance with policies, and timely month-end closings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance and 5 years of accounting experience, with 1+ year in supervision. Strong communication and process-improvement skills are essential, as is familiarity with SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CIMA/ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/CPA qualification preferred.
• 5 years of accounting experience required.
• 1+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing accounting.
• Experience in monthly closings, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• SOX compliance experience and handling audits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting staff in daily accounts payable/receivable, ledger maintenance, and revenue and asset accounting.
• Oversee posting and verification of financial data and monthly close processes.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting records and policies.
• Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports; investigate discrepancies.
• Manage team performance, coaching, and development; assign and review work.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors per SOX requirements.
• Identify process improvements and oversee system enhancements for accounting software.
• Respond to inquiries and support special accounting projects.
