Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an accounting specialist to provide bookkeeping and payroll services for Block Advisors small business clients. You will record financial transactions, generate financial statements, and assist with bank reconciliations and tax return data entry.

You will collaborate with Tax Advisors and account managers to deliver accurate records, compliant reporting, and proactive client service, helping grow the Block Advisors client base through referrals and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• Experience with Word, Excel and Open Office.
• Ability to multi-task and work in multiple windows.
• Strong analytical and detail oriented mindset.
• Good verbal and written communication; client service experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial information into systems and prepare reports.
• Handle basic accounting tasks including bank reconciliations and payroll.
• Assist Tax Advisors with data entry for tax returns and uploads.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Communicate with managers, clients, vendors, and banking contacts.
• Support growth opportunities and client retention through referrals.
