Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist for our Lubbock, TX location to manage essential bookkeeping tasks and ensure accurate financial records.

You will handle accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP-based activities in support of financial integrity. Two years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience and strong organizational skills are required, with focus on accurate reporting and vendor communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of full-cycle bookkeeping or staff accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approval routing, and payment runs.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Execute the period-end and year-end close process in accordance with established timelines.
• Prepare financial and management reports for the Controller's review.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
• Assist with annual 1099 reporting.
• Provide documentation and support for external audits and tax preparation.
• Maintain internal controls and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
