Job summary

Blackbird Health is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead the general ledger, close processes, and multi-entity consolidations across PA, VA, NJ, and MD. You will own journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis while partnering with FP&A and cross-functional leaders.

In this role, you will drive accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and audit readiness in a fast-growing startup environment, contributing to a scalable accounting architecture and ERP initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or financial operations in a high-growth, multi-state startup environment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, complex journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks) and spend platforms (Ramp, Bill) and exposure to ERP implementation projects.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close workflows for multi-entity entities and ensure GAAP-compliant reconciliations.
• Perform flux/variance analysis across revenue and expenses, partnering with FP&A for leadership insights.
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, vendor onboarding, invoices, payments, and card/expense tools.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers and internal controls for external audits.
• Collaborate with Finance and People teams on cross-functional initiatives as Blackbird scales.
