Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Accounting Manager in Scottsdale, AZ for a hybrid role with 4 days in office. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close, prepare and review journal entries, and support GAAP research while partnering with cross-functional leaders on accounting initiatives.

You will mentor accounting staff, drive process improvements, and work with executives on reporting, controls, and audits in a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification or active pursuit with significant progress preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience in multi-entity environments and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support technical accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams on accounting-related initiatives and transactions.
• Assist with financial reporting, audit coordination, and compliance requirements.
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and efficiency projects across the accounting function.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff in a collaborative environment.
• Participate in special projects and strategic business initiatives as needed.
