Job summary

Highspring LLC (d/b/a Vaco by Highspring) in the Nashville area seeks an Accounting Manager to partner with the Controller. This hands-on role focuses on improving processes, controls, and reporting to build a scalable accounting function. You will evaluate existing procedures, drive efficiencies, and support audits while mentoring junior staff.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of accounting experience, solid U.S. GAAP knowledge, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Hands-on month-end close experience.
• Strong Excel skills.
• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting/audit experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with process improvement and internal controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Controller on day‑to‑day accounting operations and process improvements
• Support monthly and year‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Review accounting processes and help establish consistent procedures and internal controls
• Research and resolve complex or historical accounting issues
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows
• Assist with accounting system and technology improvements
• Analyze financial data using Excel and other tools
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide accounting support as needed
• Over time, provide leadership and development to junior accounting staff
• Assist with audits, reporting, and other special projects
