Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking an experienced accounting leader to supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual close, manage internal reporting, and oversee staff in a high-volume environment. You will ensure GAAP compliance and SOX controls, review reconciliations, and partner with auditors.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, supervisory skills, and a Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting, with CPA or MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Strong understanding and application of GAAP.
• Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Supervise and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close for the company.
• Perform and/or review complex accounting reconciliation and analysis.
• Direct activities of teams responsible for GL accounting, vendor billing, cash reconciliation, fixed assets, and related CAPEX accounting.
• Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources.
• Lead teams through change and maintain integrity of the general ledger.
• Ensure transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment.
• Perform financial analysis as required.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and schedules for auditors and management.
