Our client, a growing consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the firm’s financial integrity and scalability. This role is responsible for managing the monthly close process, supervising accounting staff, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and partnering cross‑functionally with leadership to support informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff; provide guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Coordinate with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced service providers
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial data and provide insights on trends, variances, and operational performance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in collaboration with finance leadership
- Improve accounting processes, documentation, and systems to support company growth
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and ad‑hoc financial analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management or supervisory responsibility
- Experience in a consulting, professional services, or project‑based environment is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; ERP experience a plus
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workloads, and lead teams effectively
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear communicator with the ability to partner with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
