Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an Accounting Manager to maintain accurate financial records, support timely reporting, and strengthen accounting processes as the company grows. This is a hands-on role with visibility across the organization.

You will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and work with cross-functional partners to execute core accounting operations, support the financial close, and help build scalable processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
• Hands-on experience supporting monthly close and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar systems, as well as Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and maintain schedules for the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation per US GAAP and policy.
• Assist with financial reporting packages and management analyses.
• Help establish, document, and improve accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist with audit, tax, and other external reporting activities.
• Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and cash reporting.
• Assist with ERP improvements and automation initiatives.
• Support implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and reporting processes.
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as the team grows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions.
