Job summary

Blackbird Health is expanding its Finance team and seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to own day-to-day general ledger operations, drive month-end close, and support ERP implementation in a multi-state environment. You’ll work closely with Finance and cross-functional leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting and audit readiness.

You will oversee journal entries, variance analysis, and intercompany consolidations while maintaining high standards of internal controls and collaboration

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or financial operations in a high-growth, multi-state startup environment.
• Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, complex journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Experience with modern cloud accounting software and spend platforms; exposure to ERP implementations and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day general ledger operations, including journal entry preparation, flux analysis, multi-entity consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations, and full-cycle accounts payable management.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers, schedules, and internal controls for external financial audits.
• Partner with FP&A to translate financial data into meaningful insights for leadership.
• Support ERP accounting system implementation and drive audit readiness.
