D&B Engineers and Architects is seeking an Accounting Manager in the Town of Woodbury, NY. This role focuses on advancing project-based accounting, strengthening controls, and guiding cross-functional teams through complex, time-sensitive matters.

The ideal candidate has extensive project accounting experience, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to improve processes, financial performance, and systems across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• Seven years of accounting experience, including three years of project accounting.
• Two years of supervisory or people-management experience.
• Experience with project-accounting ERP systems; BST Global is a plus.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, WIP, billing, and close processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff.
• Oversee month-end close, reporting, project accounting, and accounts receivable.
• Provide analysis of revenue, WIP, cash flow, and financial risks.
• Partner with project managers to improve financial performance.
• Maintain effective accounting procedures, controls, and documentation.
• Manage the BST Global ERP system, reporting, training, and upgrades.
• Resolve complex accounting, billing, contract, and system issues.
• Coordinate audit support and other financial requests.
• Lead accounting, system, and process-improvement projects.

D&B Engineers and Architects is hiring an Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for continuous improvement of our project-based firm’s accounting operations and will work across the organization to strengthen project financial management, resolve issues, and improve the systems and processes that support growth.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced project-accounting professional who is ready to take broader ownership of people, processes, controls, and results while remaining sufficiently hands‑on to guide the team through complex or time‑sensitive matters.

• Knowledge of reporting, close, revenue recognition, WIP, billing, and collections.
• Strong Excel and financial‑analysis skills.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• AEC or professional‑services experience is strongly preferred.
• Payroll‑management experience is a plus.
• Project management and process‑improvement experience are a plus.
• System implementation experience is a plus.
• Risk‑management experience is a plus.
• Forecasting / budgeting experience is a plus.
• Experience presenting results to senior leadership is a plus.

Monday through Friday

Salary Range

$110,000 – $140,000
