Job summary

Adecco is partnering with a growing organization to hire an Accounting Manager to lead a small accounting team while staying actively involved in day-to-day accounting tasks. This is a working manager role—you’ll guide the team and also handle journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting to stay close to the details.

You’ll own priorities, deadlines, and processes across Accounts Payable and other high-volume activities, building a collaborative, accountable team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of direct people leadership, supervisory, or accounting management experience.
• Strong general accounting experience including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience with Accounts Payable and other high-volume transactional processes.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems proficiency.
• Ability to own priorities, work independently, meet deadlines, and follow issues through to resolution.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership style balancing support and development with accountability and clear expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team with clear expectations and day-to-day support.

• Remain actively involved in journal entries, reconciliations, transaction reviews, and issue resolution.
• Support month-end and year-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Review account activity for accuracy, completeness, and internal controls.
• Provide oversight across Accounts Payable and other high-volume transactional activities.
• Investigate discrepancies and drive resolution.
• Partner with operations to support business needs and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve reporting.
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
• Help build a collaborative, accountable accounting team.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong progressive general accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• 2+ years of direct people leadership, supervisory, or accounting management experience.
• Experience working with Accounts Payable and/or other high-volume transactional accounting processes.
• Strong ERP systems experience and proficiency with Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work independently, prioritize competing demands, and follow issues through to resolution.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A leadership style that balances support and development with accountability and clear expectations.
