Job description

A growing and well-established organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role will oversee the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, manage the monthly close process, and support financial analysis, reporting, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Accountant with strong technical accounting skills, advanced data analysis capabilities, and experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and review financial reporting packages and supporting schedules
  • Conduct monthly financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas requiring correction
  • Perform and review account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, including allocations and coding
  • Manage revenue recognition processes and commission reporting
  • Support budget development and financial planning activities
  • Analyze financial variances compared to budget and provide actionable insights
  • Manage multiple QuickBooks company files and ensure proper system utilization
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
  • Assist with audit preparation and external reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting processes, and procedures
  • Produce various financial and operational reporting deliverables
  • Support cross-functional stakeholders with financial data and analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end close and financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with limited supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting audit and tax processes
  • Strong data manipulation and financial analysis capabilities
  • Experience working across multiple accounting systems or entities
  • Background in building or improving accounting processes and internal controls
