Responsibilities:

• 1. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• 2. Manage and oversee all aspects of our financial systems, including the general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• 3. Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards.
• 4. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• 5. Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management, providing insights into the company's financial performance and making recommendations for improvements.
• 6. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and manage the preparation of the annual financial statements.
• 7. Oversee the company's banking and financial institution relationships, ensuring the effective management of cash flow and financial resources.
• 8. Manage the payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions and compliance with payroll tax laws.
• 9. Implement and manage the Workday financial management system, ensuring its effective use for financial management and reporting.
• 10. Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

• 1. Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CPA or Masters is a plus)
• 2. Have at least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the financial services, credit union, bank, or banking industry.
• 3. Have a strong understanding of GAAP, FASB standards, and public accounting principles.
• 4. Have experience with financial systems, particularly the Workday financial management system.
• 5. Have experience managing payroll functions.
• 6. Possess excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• 7. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make sound financial decisions.
• 8. Have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• 9. Be detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• 10. Be a proactive and self-motivated individual, with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
