Hybrid schedule based in San Francisco, collaboration with finance, legal, operations, and external auditors. The role partners with auditors on SOX controls, supports SEC reporting, and strengthens scalable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting.
  • Experience with complex close processes and audits.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP or Oracle) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar and entries.
  • Prepare US GAAP financial statements and schedules.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity by reconciling items.
  • Design and monitor SOX controls and documentation.
  • Support SEC reporting deliverables (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K).
  • Coordinate with external auditors on audits and IC testing.
  • Improve workflows using ERP and BI tools.

The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations, ensuring accurate monthly and quarterly close processes under US GAAP. The role manages reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, financial reporting, and accounting policies within a fast-growing technology environment.

The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations, ensuring accurate monthly and quarterly close processes under US GAAP. The role manages reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, financial reporting, and accounting policies within a fast-growing technology environment.

You will partner with finance, legal, operations, and external auditors to maintain SOX controls, support SEC reporting requirements, and strengthen scalable systems and processes. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages
  • Own balance sheet integrity by investigating reconciling items, documenting conclusions, and resolving issues on schedule
  • Design, operate, and improve SOX controls, including control documentation, evidence collection, and remediation tracking
  • Support SEC reporting deliverables, including schedules and disclosures for Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
  • Partner with external auditors and technical accounting advisors on audit requests, accounting conclusions, and internal control testing
  • Improve accounting workflows and reporting through ERP, close-management, and analytical tools such as NetSuite, BlackLine, FloQast, Excel, and SQL or BI platforms
What We Are Looking For
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA license strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX requirements, SEC reporting, internal controls, and financial statement preparation
  • Experience managing complex close processes, reconciliations, technical accounting analyses, and audit relationships
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting issues to finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Bonus: Experience in a public technology company, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition under ASC 606, business combinations, IPO readiness, or close-management automation
