Our client who is a venture-backed technology start-up is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. This is an on-site role in the office 5 days a week in San Francisco.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close and support external audits.

• Own preparation of finance statements
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and lead the implementation of new accounting standards
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
• Supervise month-end close and accounts payable processes
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Lead and manage a team of senior accountants

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferable a mix of experience in audit in public accounting and within accounting in a fast-growing company
• Experience working at a publicly-traded company preferred
• Proficient in Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Airbase, and Avalara
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (familiarity with various ASC’s)
• SaaS experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion, meeting deadlines
• Strong critical thinking, organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
