Job Description

Provide instruction for the Survey of Accounting (ACC100) course that serves students in the Business Administration transfer degree, A.S. degrees for immediate placement in the workforce, and certificate programs in business, hospitality, and funeral service. This is the accounting gateway course for all programs in the Business Department.

Examples of Duties
  1. Provide on campus instruction utilizing educational technologies.
  2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
  3. Track and assess student progress.
  4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  5. Participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Accounting or a related field (including Education).
  2. Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
  3. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
  4. Experience in the accounting field.
  5. Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
  6. Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.
  7. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  1. College-level teaching experience.
  2. Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
  3. Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.

Compensation

Anticipated starting salary – Step I DCE PayScale (currently $4,536 for 3-credit course). Part-time, non-benefited DCE/MCCC Unit position.
