Instructor, Business Administration (Extended Posting)

Position Summary: This position provides instruction in the Business Administration Department and advising for students pursuing the Associate of Applied Science credentials and certifications awarded by the department.

  • Maintains mastery of subject matter.
  • Develops and/or teaches courses for which the appropriate credential is held.
  • Teaches in various formats, locations, and via various delivery methods.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, expectations, and practices of the College, the department, and discipline.
  • Communicates clearly with students, other faculty, and staff.
  • Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Enforces Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct.
  • Assists with program reviews, program accreditation, and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate.
  • Reviews textbooks for adoption in business courses as appropriate.
  • Attends meetings and events and actively participates in committees and task forces.
  • Attends the annual commencement ceremony.
  • Upholds the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
  • Supports diversity in all aspects.
  • Establishes or upholds learning outcomes that are relevant and meaningful.
  • Evaluates student progress in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
  • Develops, prepares, and/or delivers all levels of curriculum courses.
  • Completes required professional development annually.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation or a related degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting or Taxation or closely related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional 18 graduate semester hours in business-related topics, credentialed to teach business or economics courses.
  • Doctorate degree or all but dissertation.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
  • Experience teaching at a community college.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $48,636 - $50,886 annually.

Benefits: Includes a 24.67% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions toward medical and dental policies, and fully funded life insurance/accidental death & dismemberment policy, representing nearly 30% of total compensation.
