We're partnering with a growing construction services company seeking an ambitious, hands-on Accounting Manager who wants to do more than simply manage the books.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the entire accounting function, rolling up their sleeves when needed, improving processes, implementing technology, and helping build the financial infrastructure of a growing business.
The Accounting Manager will work directly with ownership and leadership to support the company's next phase of growth. As the organization continues to expand, this individual will have the opportunity to help shape the future Accounting & Finance department and position themselves for advancement into a Controller or CFO-level leadership role.
We're looking for someone who embraces accountability, continuous improvement, technology, and innovation, and who sees challenges as opportunities to build something better.
What You'll Do
Own the Accounting Function
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll oversight
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate with external accounting and tax partners
Construction & Project Accounting
- Oversee job costing and project accounting activities
- Manage WIP reporting and project profitability analysis
- Support AIA billing and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Partner with project managers and operational leaders to improve project financial visibility
- Monitor labor, material, and project cost performance
Build & Improve
- Evaluate current accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Drive system enhancements, workflow improvements, and operational efficiencies
- Help implement scalable accounting and reporting tools
- Leverage technology, automation, and AI solutions to streamline processes and improve decision-making
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting that provide greater visibility into company performance
- Help establish the financial foundation needed to support long-term growth
Business Partnership & Leadership
- Serve as a trusted partner to ownership and leadership
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate across operations, project management, and administration
- Help build the future Accounting & Finance organization as the company scales
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Construction accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting
- Experience with AIA billing and revenue recognition preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Procore strongly preferred

- Interest in technology, automation, AI tools, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where no task is beneath you
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to build processes and create structure
- Strong communication skills and business acumen
- Desire to grow into a future Controller or CFO leadership position
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Direct interaction with ownership and key decision-makers, and immediate role within the leadership team
- Opportunity to build and shape the Accounting & Finance function
- Significant influence on systems, technology, and operational processes
- Ability to drive meaningful change rather than maintain the status quo
- Exposure to strategic business decisions and company growth initiatives
- Clear long-term path toward Controller and CFO-level leadership
- Join a company that values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Annual bonus / profit-sharing opportunity
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
